Born in Ravenna, Ohio, Patty is one of four sisters, all of which were very active in sports and social activities growing up. She attended Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin and was a geriatric social worker in a nursing home in both Ravenna and Cleveland.
Patty dedicated her life to service and supported many golf organizations and groups throughout Ohio as well as being a USGA Rules Official.
In Ohio:
• Patty was a board member at Oakwood Club for 8 years, serving as president for 2 years
• She was elected to the board of Cleveland Women’s Golf Association (CWGA) in 1987, serving as President in 1998.
• Patty served on the Ohio Girls Golf Foundation (OGGF).
• Patty was a member of the Ohio Course Rating Team from 1990 -1999.
• She won the Mary K. Browne Tournament at Kirtland Country Club while she was president of CWGA in 1998.
• Patty was introduced to the WOSGA Executive Committee by Betty Peppard and became a rules official for WOSGA in 2006.
Elsewhere:
• Patty was a member of the Women’s Golf Committee at Card Sound Golf Club in Key Largo, Florida, serving as President for 2 years.
• She officiated at the NCAA Divisional III National Championship in 2001.
USGA:
• Patty was appointed to the USGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Committee in 2000.
• She conducted Women’s Mid Am Qualifiers in Ohio for 12 years including being the official-in-charge for the Sectional LPGA Women’s Open Qualifier in 2003.
Patty officiated as a USGA Rules official for:
o 15 US Women’s Opens
o 13 US Women’s Amateurs
o 18 Women’s Mid-Amateurs
o 1 Men’s Senior Open
In 2018 she officiated at The Women’s Open, Women’s Amateur, Inaugural Women’s Senior Open, USGA Women’s Senior Amateur, Women’s Mid-Amateur, and the World Amateur Team Championship which was held in Dublin, Ireland.
